dc.descriptionEl articulo pretende elaborar una revisión crítica de la trayectoria de la historiografía guatemalteca, con el objeto de impulsar al interior de la comunidad nacional de historiadores, una actitud de apertura hacia el desarrollo que la investigación histórica ha experimentado en el siglo XX., este esfuerzo es el que ira posibilitando que la investigación histórica en Guatemala rebase finalmente el influjo de la tradición historiográfica liberal, de la historia política anecdotaria y del uso de la historia como instrumento de adhesión política, restándole así su amplio potencial explicativo.es-ES
